The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) aims to help make sure your telephone number is no longer available to organisations, including charities and voluntary organisations who may telephone you with offers and information you do not wish to receive. These are the main headings
Register your home or business numbers
Make a complaint,
What is corporate tps?
Check you are registered
Ofcom consumer guide
Helpful links
FAQs
Other services
Or contact TPS
Basically you can do everything you need to do but sadly lots of companies just ignore the TPS and so you still get calls! However as soon as you say you are registered callers usually ring off immediately
The Telephone Preference Service is designed to help to stop unwanted telephone calls. You just submit your number and preferences and you are supposed to be protected for 4 years. Good luck! I have never found that it works but perhaps it does stop some unwanted calls - so why not do it! The only thing that I have found is that if you tell any SPAM callers that you are on the TPS registry they either ring off immediately or apologize profusely - as they are breaking the law.
