Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Great views. Great place, easy to get to. Would recommend 100% to anyone.

Stayed here for one night while away with work. Was really impressed and am looking to go back with my wife and son. Lovely location, friendly staff and the meal I had was to die for

Edgcumbe Hotel

19 Summerleaze Cres, Bude EX23 8HJ, UK – 01288 353846

Superb, like home from home. Very relaxed atmosphere & made to feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Clean, great food and location - highly recommended.

This is lovely hotel ran by Emma and her team, we come back year on year! The rooms are comfortable, clean and have excellent views (well the one we stay in on the front does at least). The breakfast menu has something for everyone and the quality is top drawer plus the restaurant and bar provide a nice place to chill out and eat/drink in an evening. The restaurant is always busy, even with people not staying at the hotel, which can only be a good sign! Well recommended! 😀

Bude Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Barrel at Bude

36 Lansdown Rd, Bude EX23 8BN, UK – 01288 356113

Love it in here. People who work here are very friendly and come over for a chat. Phones are banned...if you are caught with your phone out, you have to donate £1 to a charity. Great beers, ales and gins. Beers change weekly depending on the barrels delivered.

Nice micro with good beers, nice little outdoor area, good music and sound ethos. Very nice indeed

Kings Arms

Howells Rd, Stratton, Bude EX23 9BX, UK – 01288 352396

Traditional pub offering fantastic real ales and great food. Family friendly, great staff and if you have a dog you will be made most welcome. A great place to meet true 'Strattonian's' and while away the hours.

Excellent local pub that does ver good food. Can recommend the Tuesday night (08:30pm) quiz.

The Tree Inn

Fore St, Stratton, Bude EX23 9DA, UK – 01288 352038

Very nice food and lovely character to the pub. We visited for an evening meal and the food and service was excellent. Food catered for both adults and kids and the portion size was very large. The food was very well cooked and the staff were very helpful. For anyone visiting Bude or who live there it is highly recommended

Great food - chips are brilliant! And the lamb shank is lovely. The service is very polite but disorganised (We ate outside so may be different in the main restaurant)

Wooldown Holiday Cottages

Marhamchurch, Bude EX23 0HP, UK – 01288 361216

Lovely location set just outside a small village of Marhamchurch near Bude with great views of countryside side and on the horizon the sea. We have stayed several times over the years , the accomodation is self catering , very smart , state of the art but rustic finish and has a top notch luxury feel to the accomodation. Hygiene is very high and you are always made to feel at home by the owners. It's very quiet with only the birds tweeting or the natural wild life to keep you company. This is a great place to get away from it all with only the village 2 mins away and 10 mins to Bude it self. We will be coming here again as considered a great base location/ holiday break and continues to be over the last 4 years . A well maintained lovely place. John shewell

Lovely location, very modern neat accommodation, all the mod cons, private, great customer service, definitely recommend

The Beach Haven

6 Gurney Cl, Bude EX23 8SH, UK – 01288 356572

Lovely holiday let, all on one level so suitable for disabled guests.

Fantastic place! Very spacious, lovely charming garden and everything's here what a family possibly needs for a week or two. Bude is one of the best place to stay in Cornwall in my opinion.

Pot and Barrel B&B Bude

Crooklets Beach, Bude EX23 8NE, UK – 01288 355305

Perfect location and Chris is the perfect host. The breakfast is amazing, the person who said its the best meal of the day had obviously stayed here! The bedroom has a comfy bed, and great views from the balcony The cream tea on arrival is a great touch, and sets the standard for the rest of the stay

We visited the Pot and Barrel for my wifes 81st birthday on the 23rd March. The first surprise was the 2 flights of steps to the front door.Once inside we were given 2 flimsy pairs of mule type slippers, which were to be worn in the house. They were not very satisfactory as they constantly slipped off our feet . Then we were shown to our room which was up a further twisty flight of stairs, with no handrail. The room itself,(The Gold Room) was small but well furnished, but with nowhere to sit, other than on the bed. The dress code was smart/casual, which was slightly at odds with wearing slippers, and being served by the owner wearing shorts and a T-shirt. On the 3rd night my wife needed the toilet during dinner, and as there was no other toilet she had to go to our room. Unfortunately due to the lack of a handrail, and the slippers, she slipped on the stairs, and was unable to get up. It took myself and Chris,(the owner) a good ten minutes to get her sitting up so she could walk again. The lack of a handrail is bad especially for older people, and the slippers provided were very flimsy. older people visiting the Pot and Barrel should be aware of this, and should choose the Green Room, which whilst not having a sea view, is on the ground floor

We run an Airbnb bed and breakfast down in Devon (house below) - and we have stayed in Airbnb accommodation all over the place. You can find the wonderful little gems with totally committed hosts and really frightful places which you put down to experience! You absolutely have to read the details of each listing - and read the reviews! Basically use Airbnb wherever we go - but we do do our homework!

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Bude Campsites and Caravan Parks

Upper Lynstone Caravan Park

Upper Lynstone Caravan Park, Bude EX23 0LP, UK – 01288 352017

This is the second time we've stayed at this camp site. There has been some good improvements. A new shower and toilet block and the pitches have been sectioned by low wooden fencing. Some pitches are now hard standing, the down side is, there is only one obvious place you can collect water from.

This is our second visit here and found the site to have been upgraded since last time. The main area has electric hook-up and has had the addition of low fences between the pitches. Some levelling of the pitches has also been carried out. From the far end of row S you can even see the sea, but sadly the nearest fresh water is close to the (free) shower block. Waste bins are emptied every day and where possible the grass was cut too. Friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance into Bude, but it's uphill on the way back.

Willow Valley Camping Park

Bush, Bude EX23 9LB, UK – 01288 353104

Lovely small campsite. Picturesque. Standard facilities. Friendly owner. Would stop here again.

Fantastic Campsite, Brilliant owners, location and facilities. We will hopefully return year after year.

Wooda Farm Holiday Park

Bude EX23 9HJ, UK – 01288 352069

Wood a is excellent. Family owned and very well maintained. Good pitches, facilities and service is very good. Highly recommended. Best site we have ever visited and have now been here 3 times. It is like coming home, a friendly well run and developed place. Handy for beaches and 1.5 miles walk in to Bude.

Brilliant site. Family and disabled friendly, very well maintained, clean and tidy. Exellent for activities and variety. Scenery and views are magnificent. Lovely and peaceful, beautiful fun play area for the kids, staff are fantastic they really do care about customer service. Dogs are more than welcome with lovely walks on site. It's a home away from home here.
